Utility Bill Charge Off

I recently discovered that my major utility co. has reported me to the 3 credit agencies as a “charge off” for app. $300.00 I owed. This has been a bill that I’ve owed for quite some time, and I’ve paid on it off and on, depending on my work situation. The last 4 months in a row, I have not missed making a $20.00 pmt to them, and yet I see that I was reported as a charge off. Now, can this still be done, when I’m making effort to pay, on a schedule, etc. Thanks for your reply. Live Human Being

Once a charge off always a charge off
But you might be able to dispute the item as making payments and hope that helps.
