He moved to the USA a few years ago, and even though he was American his english was not so great. He went to a gym and convinced him to sign a contract, but told him that it was just paperwork and he could quit at anytime. Well he stopped going and now he owes them the rest of the money for the 3 year contract that they tricked him into signing. Now his credit is messed up and he needs to fix it. Can you please help or make a suggestion?

Same thing happened to me.
One has to fullfill the contract. Contact creditor and negotiate payments and pay in full if they agree to remove the bad marks.
