Hi, my name is Real Live Person.
I came across your website in an attemp to try to fix my credit issues on my own. I have absolutely no idea where to begin. Right now I am 26 years old and my credit score is 541. My major issue comes with a house I was purchasing in 2002. To make a very long story short, I had a great job and I concieved my 4 year old daughter and gave birth to her on May 30, 2003. 1 week after her delivery I was put into the hospital with a horrible infection, very close to death. When I was released from the hopital I could not work for 2 months, resulting in the loss of my job. Obviously, without a job for that long, getting behind on bills came very easily, they repossed my home and my vehicle.

I definately can understand these being on my credit report but there are a few things on there that I think I would like to dispute. Including a few old hospital bills, an electric bill and a Verizon Wireless account that I never set up. There are also a couple of items on there that I have no idea what they could be, even after going through all of my paper work.
Also, showing up are 2 different cars, both of these cars were trade-ins so I do not understand how they are showing up on my report. Here is my list: GET READY

So, thats it, if there is any way that you could help me out, that would be great!!! One very important question that I do have is a matter of your opinion. Would you recommend me to try to fix this mess of credit that I have here, or would you suggest that I should just file bankruptcy. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Real Live Person

Of course dispute ANYTHING you "would like to dispute"
Looks like midland and verizon are duplicates one must go for sure.
Try anything insurance you can on the hospital stuff.
pay off anything you can if they agree to remove it from your report when paid in full. Get something in writing.

Get 3 current lines of credit and keep them open for a year. Pay some money upfront to open up a ccard or something that "reports" to bureaus.
In one year your score will be 640+ just on getting new good credit alone to cover up all the old bad stuff. Start small and think small. All you want is something current and good.

you can definately raise your score big time in one years time.
