Hello Bo,
Your site is very helpful thanks for the free advice. I'm writing because I have a few questions about my credit. I currently have a collection on my report from my car insurance company. I lost my job and my insurance lapsed. I went through the same company the second time. They took the last payment and spread it through my new policy which I just paid off. The collection is still there. If I dispute this can it be removed? Also, I'm only 19 and I have a very low credit score because I don't have a long credit history and I've had too many businesses look and my credit ( seven inquiries in 12 months). I want to buy a new car and with my age and my credit score being only 574 it makes it very difficult. Do you have any suggestions. I also thought of getting a loan for a cheap used car first. Do you think this is a good idea or should I wait a few months to raise my score. Can you help me please. I'll appreciate any advice you give me.

Thank You

A collection from car insurance that you have now and is current? That should be negotiable. Call the insurer and firmly ask for removal and a letter stating you are current and paid as agreed as the debt must be paid off or they would not allow you to keep current insurnace with them.

7 inquiries in 12 months is not hurting your score. No current rated credit and past bad credit is hurting your score. In one year you can raise you score big time with 3 current rated and reported credit cards or loans.
