Paid Collection

Hey Bo,
Well I came across your info a bit too late! I made a couple of payments over the phone to a couple of collection agencies and would like to know is there anyway that I will be able to get my credit report updated? On a side note one of the reps that I spoke with mentioned that they would be unable to remove the collections on my credit report due to the Fair Credit Reporting Act. She said all they could do was show a zero balance paid in full. What can I do, if anything?
