If I let my debts that show on my credit report go for the 7 year mark and they are still unpaid, will show negatively on my report being that they were never paid? Also, if I have a creditor calling me willing to settle on a one time payment and say I do settle, will this show negatively on my credit history? Thank you so much for your help!
---------------------
ALL records other than court findings, should fall off after seven years
Often times collections, credit cards, hospital bills, are sold again and again causing more than 7 years worth of pain so try to settle or pay if you can.
Settlements will show bad but is better than charge off or uncollectable.
Get and keep new good credit if you have enough income and responsibilty to pay.

Its Me again....sorry to bother you again, I just had one more question. Why is it that when you mess up on a bill it goes to your credit history. However, when you pay your bills on time it does not show on your credit report. I dont understand why the bad can play such an overloading role over the good! If you can, would you please explain this to me! If my husband and I wanted to get a credit card....the issuer would have no idea that we pay all of our bills on time every month....but they would know the mistakes that we made when we were 18!!! I just doesn't make sense!

Utilities, phone, gas, water, heat, rent, insurance and the like are not loans, but bills, where one pays as they go. These are not reported unless one messes them up and they are assigned a charge off or an uncollectible.
Just normal rules of the jungle.
Get and keep new open reported credit.
