4 Hospital Bills in collections. Remove from my report.

I have 4 hospital bills that are currently in collections and are hurting my credit alot. I wanted to know what would be better to call them up and negotiate or just let them fall off of my report? dont know much about how long it takes so i wouldn't know what would be my best option. These are in collections as of right now, and i wanted to know how can i get them removed? they are all from the same collection agencymy credit scores are 600 662 619 first one is
$230 opened in 12/2002, last reported in 3/10/03
second one is $160 opened in 07/2001, last reported in 1/30/02
third one is $135 opened in 07/2001, last reported in 1/30/02
fourth one is $285 opened in 07/2001, last reported in 1/30/02

If i had the money I would pay them all, but, negotiate before I paid. This is a matter of responsible credit honor.
If they cannot remove the collections completely I would probably still pay.

If you have three open lines of good credit you are closer to these falling offf than to hurting your scores

Some creditors deny credit if there are any unpaid collections on a report.
