I have a paid phone collection for $268 and a paid car insurance collection/chargeoff for $58 listed on my report. These went to collections back in 05 but were just paid recently. One is listed to fall off my report in 2011 and the other in 2012. However on each one I have a discrepancy. The insurance list my account as still being open account and the utility one does not list the date it went into collection. If I dispute these to the credit bureaus do you think since they are paid and neither creditor (well neither is a line of credit) have anything to gain by answering the bureaus dispute will respond thus requiring the bureau to delete? And if no deletion occurs how harmful would non-lines of paid credit collections be on your report it they remain?
---------------------
that is a perfect train of thought
do it just like that
they will not hurt any at all once they become 2 years old and you have new good credit going that is reported to bureaus
these are both utility collections and are the least likely to negotiate off
so one disputes them and hopes. thats all you can do.
