My Credit scores are TR 588, EX 611, EQ 586. In 2003 I had a hospital bill for $177 that was just about to go into collections I negotiated with original Creditor to pay $59 for 3 months - Paid to original creditor. Immediately after I made all 3 payments I began receiving letters from the Collection Agency I have had conversations via telephone and fax with them informing them that I had paid debt to original creditor. This account remains on my credit report only for Experian (negatively) under collection accounts as "Paid" What can I do to have this removed and if so will this make a difference in my score? Can I write to NCO to ask for the account to be deleted?
Thanks so much for your website.

One almost always needs to negotiate before payments are made.
You have very little to go on
BUT
The collections agency should not be able to report something they haven't collected on

Thank you so much for your help....You are awesome! Who should I send a letter to NCO (Collection Agency) and tell them just that...or do I leave it alone and what would I say to NCO what is the law on that.
