Bo,
Great site - not sure if you take emails anymore. I read through most of your site however I am not sure how to tackle the below.
1) Type of Account - Revolving credit via Best Buy via HSBC. 2) How old - August 05 3) Payments made - All of them/12? 4) Credit Score - 713
Basically we opened an 18 month interest free account for $3600 at Best Buy. We paid it off before the 18 month expiration and currently have a zero balance. Here's where it gets weird. Equifax has us down for an account where the first seven numbers are not ours, but the last nine are from our paid off account. They are saying we still owe $2378 on this other account. I called HSBC and they only have us on one account and it's zero.
Not sure where to go from here to prove that the other account doesn't exist or if it does, it's not mine.
Any help appreciated.

Who says you owe money Equifax?
I would just dispute the record as not mine.
713 is a great score already but one needs to find out about debts in dispute so it does not go down.
