I have a few unauthorized inquiries which I want to dispute

My question is: I just pulled all three of my credit reports. I have a few unauthorized inquiries which I want to dispute. I was wondering if I can just prepared the dispute letter fax it to them intead of mail to them since I have their fax number. Do I have to mail the dispute letter along with a copy of my credit report? If I fax it, do I fax the letter alone?
