I recently found your site and have been reading through it. I am in an odd predicament which I will explain in the hopes you can point me in the right direction. When my father died in 1999 the credit bureaus, and in a few cases, the creditors, put items on my report that belonged to my dad. In one instance there is an item on my report from 1984, when I was only eight years old, for 100,000 dollars that my mother incurred while she and my dad were married for medical bills. The previous example is by far the worst of them, but there are many items on my report due to the exact same or similar circumstances and I have been meeting with heavy resistance in correcting this because I share my father's name, the only differentiating factor is our social security numbers, which are not even remotely similar to one another, and thus far have not seemed sufficient to get these items removed. I was wondering if you could give me any ideas for how to approach this in a manner
that will get the desired resolution. I only owe, at most, 10,000 dollars and thats probably stretching it quite a bit, but my credit report shows something in the neighborhood of 150,000 dollars in debt. I appreciate any guidance you can provide and I thank you in advance.

I would get his death certificate and use copies of it to dispute these errors. In adition I would get a birth certificate for myself and snd copies of it in for dispute. I would get copies of all my reports and circle items that are obviously inccorect. Under the cirlced item I would explain the stupid stuff like I was 8 for goodness sakes. In addition i might go to thre better business bureau and foloow suite with them and ask for help.
Then I might go to the FTC
1. dispute with birth and death certs
2. copy reports and circle and explain the obvious errors.
3. get help from FTC and BBB

I am someone of limited financial means at present, do you know of any ways to get a copy of my reports that is truly free? I have no credit cards so I can't even sign up for the supposedly "free" deals I have found on the net.
------
Use my free letter
They do not come with score
They do not come with helpful adice and 800 numbers like most free credit reports come with. You get all kinds of free stuff that really helps and you can cancel before 30 days and keep the free reports and scores. Or keep the monitoring and get cool stuff that really helps. Did you know everyone needs a credit card to keep the credit score alive.
See I am a nice real live person who really helps

Unfortunately due to my credit report no one will issue me a credit card, I have tried many places that I have seen online, and the only ones that I could a card issued from required a "deposit" or secured acccount and the cards that they claim are 7500.00 in unsecured credit and are really some catalog company scam to get you to buy from them. I would be open to applying if you know of any that are truly designed for something like credit rebuilding or for people with damaged credit as a starting point. I really appreciate all your help, my wife and I had a little girl eight months ago and we are really trying to get our credit repaired so we can get a home loan and buy a home.

Get a BP Oil or some gas card at the gas station you use.
Mail in 200 or 300 dollars and ask to open an account with them as you need credit to buy a home. They did it for me and will do it for you too. Explain your credit is awful but you will pay good, on time, and more than you charge on gas each month. MY BET. They do it. Don't dig a whole. Pay an extra 20.00 per month and after 12 months you will have a 4-500 high credit and a recent credit history.

I did it with bp oil in 1992 anf was charged off by BP for 3-400 bucks forgot? I still have that card today and this is the whole reason I got in this credit stuff. It hurts and is very hard work. YOU CAN DO IT.
