Charge off utility and collection. Remove

I subletted a coop about seven years ago. The reason I relinquished it was the landlord wanted to sell it, so I moved out, and (mistake) left the power on for her until she transferred it to her name. Bottom line: she waited a month, ran up another $51 in electricity charges, and I never got the $51 bill. Years later I was contacted by a collection agency. I paid it with the explanation above, and have run into brick walls trying to get this "derogatory mark" removed. Any suggestions I'd welcome. Thank you.

Nope
Same thing happend to me with Nashville Power in 1992 and that is what started this whole credit help webpage thing.
One can sometimes get credit cards, hopsital bills, collections to negotiate.
Utilities almost NEV ER.
Get new credit and go on
