My goal was to refinance my house

My past credit history isn't the best, because of a bad relationship several years back my credit score went downhill mainly because I couldn't afford to make the payments on time. My credit score 2 yrs ago was in the low 500's. Two years ago I was able to buy a house, my financial situation improved, I been paying all my bills thru automatic bill pay thru my bank. About 6 months ago. My mortgage company sold my loan to CHASE mortgage. I mailed the first few payments on time. UNTIL! because I was determined to pay my bills on time I decided to enroll in CHASE'S automatic deduction payment service. I HAD NO IDEA THAT WAS GOING TO BACKFIRE ON ME! I sent all the forms to CHASE, next thing I knew I was a month behind.
THEY DID NOT INFORM ME THAT IT TOOK THEM 45 days to process my enrollment! The
> money was in the bank for them to take when the payment was due I WAS IN EUROPE FOR 15 DAYS and when I came back I got a call saying that I was a month late and that they were going to report it to the credit bureau. ( I immediately paid the outstanding balance for 2 months) I DIDN'T NOT RECEIVED A PHONE CALL OR A LETTER OR E MAIL telling me how long it took. I am a university student and I had planned to use the refinancing money to go to dentistry school very expensive!! I have been waiting until now JUNE 2006 to do this.
and precisely THIS MONTH! my credit score went down to 590 because of this! I was shocked my loan officer informed me that he cannot qualify me for the loan that I so desperately needed. I am in a state of shock! My future depended on this. I had plenty of money in my account at the time ( when I was out of the country) so making the payment wasn't a problem at all. What can I do about this problem. All I wanted was to make my payments on time, had I known this was going to happen I wouldn't have never let them (CHASE) screw me up like this.
Can you please offer any advise to me? like i said my future depends on it! thank you so much

This is something that can only be remedied through Chase....
It sounds like you exhausted all avenues with Chase already.....
Try to reason with them again....
