I filed BK (chapt 7) and it was discharged in January 2001. Is there any reason why it would still be on my credit report? I thought these fell off after 7 years. And if I am incorrect with my assumption is there anything that I can do to get those credit card debits that say “included in bankruptcy” off of my report?

I am pretty sure bankruptcy shows for 10 years.
Matter of law.
The accounts included in BK should be off.
Dispute them all and say reported incorrectly. BK discharged Jan 01
Include a copy of your discharge papers.

Fair Credit Reporting Act states the following with regard to bankruptcies. A chapter 7 will report for 10 years from the filing date (regardless of discharge status contrary to popular belief). A chapter 13 that has been discharged will report for 7 years from the filing date for all three major credit reporting agencies. FCRA states, however, that a chapter 13 MAY report for up to 10 years from filing date as the bureaus see fit. All three voluntarily report a 13 for 7 years if discharged. A dismissed chapter 13 reports for 10 years for Equifax, while TransUnion and Experian report it for 7 only. All running times are from FILING DATE, not DISPOSITION DATE.
