7 years or 10 years on a bankruptcy

I live in Texas. In 1999 I filed chapter 7, at that time I was told that it would be on my credit for seven (7) years. In 2005?? the law changed to allow ten (10) years. I need to find the OLD law were it states SEVEN years. I keep finding the NEW law. Where can I find this on-line or elsewhere? The credit bureau's insist that they will not remove the bankruptcy until 2010.
