Subject: Question
Bo,
Thanks for your info. Your home page is very useful. 4 months ago I filed BK-7. Last month I received my credit report and many of the accounts have not been updated and the ones that were updated have a pay status of "Unrated". I can't find a definition for "Unrated" and how does that affect my score. I'm not looking for a 720 score, but I would like to see some improvement.
Thanks,
REAL PERSON
Unrated means it is not an account established at least 12 months ago. So the account is less than 12 months old.......or some times they go unrated when they are older than 2 years from date of last activity.

Started looking over your site, My biggest credit problem is Student Loans $60,000 and $10,000, Which I've been rehabbing and one Credit Card debt at around $9,000. I want to get the old stuff off, credit inquires and stuff.
Credit Inquiries have become almost indisputable. I still try it though. 60,000 and 10,000. Oh my? We have a problem houston. I would just try to open new credit like a credit card by sending them upfront monies to open and account and pay good for 2 years. After 2 years your credit score will increase due to new GOOD credit, AND your old bad credit will have a diminshed effect. One problem though. If you are paying on a loan that looks bad it will look bad seven years from your payment in full unless you work something out with the student loan lender. All this works with the 9,000 credit card bill too. Use this page to go and get new credit. http://www.oskie.com/free_credit_report_letter/rebuild_new_good_credit.htm
