fraud alert on my account, denied for loan because of the fraud alert

Quoting LIVE HUMAN WITH CREDIT QUESTION
I just had a quick question. Recently I put a fraud alert on my account and know I want to remove it because I want to apply for a loan. I tried to apply for a loan once already and it was denied because of the fraud alert.
I have tried to call the numbers but I have not been able to get a hold of sometime. What should I do?
------------------
Write to the bureaus.
Fraud alerts usually mean they call you before they approve a loan. Turned
down is not what happens with fraud alerts. Something is fishy.

credit card that is all paid off with a zero balance, is it good to close the account or keep it open

Quoting REAL PERSON WITH CREDIT QUESTIONS
Hi! Your website was very helpful. I was just wondering if I am not using a credit card that is all paid off with a zero balance, is it good to close the account or keep it open? How does this affect my score?
------------------
Depends on what OTHER credit you have.
If you have 3 currently active OTHER accounts then closing would be fine. If
not then I recommend you use the account.
